Temples and Castles of Kyoto, Japan

Travel Muse Moumita

Kyoto was once the imperial capital of Japan, and when I went some years back it had the quiet charm of a suburb than a typical city with skylines and huge crowds. We booked a one day tour of the temples and shrines through JTB USA and conducted by Sunrise Tours in Japan. I only remember two of the names of the many places we visited on our tour and am not sure which other ones on their current itinerary (some UNESCO Heritage sites) we visited, but even on a rainy afternoon it was very peaceful and serene walking through the temple/castle grounds, gardens and shrines, as we admired the scenic beauty of Kyoto.
